Mobile Biometric Platform Overview
ID Solutions, is proud to announce the Wireless Handheld Open identification System – WHOiS.
ID Solutions, a proven leader in the design and implementation of large scale biometric projects, formed the Mobile Biometrics Division to integrate recent improvements in handheld biometric devices and wireless technologies with ID Solution’s award winning AFIS technology to create the ID Solutions Mobile Biometrics integration Platform.
MBiP includes the following components:
- Handheld Devices
- Wireless connectivity server
- AFIS communications server
- ID Solutions’ high performance fingerprint matching engine
- ID Solutions’ biometric data management system
The building blocks of the Mobile Platform have been combined in various configurations to created the WHOiS line of cost effective, off the shelf, mobile biometric product solutions. These products range from standalone handheld solutions, with no back end AFIS requirements, to systems that fully integrate mobile and back end components.
Standalone Product Solutions
- Verify WHOiS – The scanned print is verified against a print stored on a SmartCard or on the handheld.
- Identify WHOiS – The scanned print is run against a database of prints (WSQ or templates) stored on the device (for example: a BOLO list).
- Enroll WHOiS– The scanned print (WSQ or template) and biographic data is collected and stored in a local database on the handheld for batch synchronization with a back end database.
- Access WHOiS – Secure access to the handheld unit, and/or specific applications, is controlled by matching the user’s scanned print against a database of authorized users’ prints.
Networked Product Solutions
- WHOiS Net Verify– The scanned print (WSQ or template) is transmitted to a back- end database for verification.
- WHOiS Net Identify– The scanned print (WSQ or template) is transmitted to a back- end AFIS system for identification.
- WHOiS Net Identify Plus– The scanned print is run against local database on the handheld. If there is no match, then the operator has the option to transmit the print (WSQ or template) to a back- end AFIS system for identification.
- WHOiS Net Enroll – The scanned print (WSQ or template) and biographic data is transmitted to a backend enrollment database in real time.
